    Default For Sale: P Reg CB500, 61k miles, £600

005.jpgNO LONGER SOLD! BLOODY EBAY TIMEWASTERS GAHHHH! If you want it, PM me .

    For Sale:

P reg naked CB500 (rear disc type), 61k miles. MOT till umm, May I think, tax till May as well - I think . Will update this info. Selling due to becoming cager following first child. Loughborough, Leics. area.

Starts on the button, always has in the 11k miles I've had it.

Givi Monorack and plate (no box).

Hagon rear shocks I put on, less than 9k on 'em. Cause back wheel to just touch down on
    centrestand.

Chain in good nick, plenty of stretch left. New head bearings about 9k ago.

Bit tatty as per age, but very solid. Tear in seat cover, spots of rust and bubbling, notably around headlight and stanchions (never EVER had fork seal issues tho, rust spots too high).

    Obligatory scratches on tank.

Think it may have been dropped by previous owner (I never did), headlight bracket seems to have bent, but is straight and passed MOT happily last time. I put new handlebars on it shortly after buying it.

Rear tyre is past legal wear, front still has good bit on it (Pilot Road II). Last MOT has advisory on rear bearings and worn rear disc.

It's a 15 year old Honda innit, and looks like it, but you're not buying it for looks - CB500, bullet proof (engine is still cracking), 200 miles plus out of a tank, lively enough in town, wack a screen on it and enjoy great range on motorway. Not so many of 'em about now, winter hack or commuter classic.

    £600, bargain . PM me if interested.002.jpg004.jpg007.jpg008.jpg

I had one of those as my 1st bike. Ridiculously capable thing, sweet steering as anything. Fuck all to go wrong, & more than lively enough over 7k revs-enough to keep the big boys in sight on a course I did with it. Just.

Still got it in a shed somewhere!

Tell me more about those hagons & why the handlebar got replaced please?

Hagons because a rear shock was leaking when I bought the bike (been so long since I rode a CB500 with non-leaking standard suspension that I can't say it feels any different <shrug>, still rides fine).

Handlebars were bent when I bought it - as I say the headlight bracket's been bent too. I guess the previous owner dropped it (if I'd ever dropped it I'd just say so). If that's true, no other damage to the bike I've ever found. Frame is fine (passed MOT).

I'm going to get WB to move this thread to the right forum .

It's gone, sold (unless timewaster). Stuck it on eBay to auction with a Buy it Now price of £600, and it sold in 4 minutes after posting it, lol. Should have put £700 .

If the buyer dicks me about it may become available again, cheers folks .

That's astoundingly cheap as a start price. Stick it up with a BIN of £850 and a sensible start price or 99p to get them bidding.

Worth a lot more than you're asking if you were selling down here.

Wrong time of year for that sort of bike really, even so, you should have no problem if it's a decent runner.

pax, what's the best mpg you've ever had out of it please?

I almost always saw 50-55mpg on mine, but I never rode it for economy, so no idea what they can return if you're really gentle about it all!
