A national infant road safety art competition in about '81 or '82. I was given my prize by The Green Cross Man himself.

Champion Canal Wildlife Spotter 1984. Still got the trophy somewhere.

    A woman's heart.

And I won a work sweepstake on the 1994 National? (Minihoma IIRC). I'd only entered after being hassled to take the last couple of horses and ended up winning about a week's wages :-P

My Mum won the street's first microwave when I was a kid, that was quite a tourist attraction for a few days. *ping* 'wow' *ping* 'ooooh'.

I won a disco dancing competition when I was about 11. Not very proud of that one.

I won my first bike trophy racing a Minitwin at Thruxton, in my first season. A lot prouder of that one.

I won the three legged race at primary school.

It wasn't until much later my talent was appreciated.

Marbot Trophy, SE skateboard championship, back in 1970something. The competition included, freestyle, ramp, slalom and high jump. I won the over 16 competition, there was a junior comp too. Only, when it came to handing out prizes, they did the junior first and simply pointed the winners (all the way down to fourth) at a pile of goodies on the table.

They couldn't believe their luck and took all the top goodies (including a lovely spec Benjiboard) before I was awarded the overall win (plus all the event prizes). It still riles me now, though at the time, being the champion made up for it.

    Screwd.

Meccano set from a nationwide competition on the back of a cornflakes packet when I was at junior school (mid-70's?).
Inter-Cadet shooting competition in 1983. Nearly a perfect score.
New Arai Helmet at the 1993 BMF rally.
A day out at The Wheelie School from a competition on Visordown.

I always win raffles and draws at the christmas do's I go to. Always. Quite embarassing sometimes, so I don't enter anymore as I don't even drink whisky or like After Eights.

Once won tickets to go see Ya Kid K in a local nightclub, but I was only 16, and too young to go. I didn't lose any sleep over that.

Won an Alice Cooper single, Poison, on a local radio station competition, at around, 1995. Don't even think I bothered to play it.

    Never did have much luck.
