Can you properly insult someone without knowing them?

Seems to me that in order to execute a class insult, you really need to know someone quite well, what's the point in throwing an insult at somone when your opinion holds little relevance? I mean if some random bod shouts something at you, how the hell do they know if it's true or not, whether it's an astute observation or just guesswork.

It's always surprising how many people are happy to offer sufficient regard to a total stranger's opinion of them to generate a feeling of insult.

I much prefer not knowing someone in order to insult them with spite and venom. If you do know them, I find it a bit tricky really and it's why I don't really like going to too many drinks do's because I can't bring myself to hurl some of my best insults at someone I actually rather like!

If they are the 27th person to say the same thing, I can see why that someone would start thinking there was substance to the words.

An insult is in the eye of the beholder. Sometimes somebody who thinks they know a little about you can try and touch a nerve without realising it makes them look a cock instead.

I think Splat is just being silly. The mechanism of insult is not a democratic one. That's just feedback

The ammount of people who get the finger from me is un countable. Seems no one else on the road is capable of driving to a decent standard. Also no one ever says thank you

Is half an hour long enough to get to know somebody? A guy phoned me the other day from Microsoft software company telling me my computer was infected. He spent about half an hour getting me to tell him what error messages (all the error messages mean you have viruses by the way) I had in event viewer and looking at the graphs in task manager (CPU usage of 2% is bad, it should be 80% and the page file shows the amount of memory that is clogged with viruses, I didn't know that ).

He asked me to go to www.logmein123.com and he was about to generate a code to connect to my PC so I told him what I thought of him and his like including "...the slug hiding under a rock in my garden is a higher form of life than you..."

After 2 or 3 minutes of this he swore at me for wasting half an hour of his time and hung up.

"You're a cuddly wuddly beary beary boo" is a universal insult. Go and try it on a complete stranger, you'll see that I'm right

I've moved on from that. I find calling someone 'supertrooper' or 'supermodel' gets a slight delay whilst they process your sexual intent & then the penny drops. Still, a kick in the balls is much the same.

Where were we? OK, how long did it take at new school for the little bastards to hit you where it hurt? Under 20 seconds? There's something rather unpleasant about the human ability to find weakness & vulnerabilities so very quickly.

Log me in is a piece of software which will let them into your pc, they will steal your personal details etc.

Apparently its quite a big scam atm and these bastards prey on people who wouldn't really know about viruses, cpu use time etc. I hate these arseholes I really do. Good on ya for telling them to get off!

P.s a page file is used for when you are running short of physical RAM so it uses an area on the hard drive to store the instructions, it will not show you what is "clogged with viruses", cheeky fuckers grrrrrrrrrrrrhhh. Just make sure you have a decent antivirus (ie not windows defender etc) and a good firewall ( again the windows one sucks).

That's what I did the first time I was called by one of these leeches, and the second time. The third time I tried to follow her instructions:
"No, there isn't a START button in the bottom left of the screen"
"I pressed the windows key and R but nothing happened"
and so on for about 15 minutes, even when I told her Event Viewer wasn't on my PC, even when I told her my PC was running Linux, she still tried to get me to run Event Viewer.
So that was 15 minutes when she couldn't infect some other poor sod's PC with her crap.
The fourth time I've told you about. He explained that a technician would connect to my PC and clean out the viruses, install some software then he mumbled something and said he was going to generate the code for Logmein. I told him I didn't quite catch that and asked him to repeat it so he said he was going to generate the code.
I said "No, before that", he mumbled it again so I asked him to repeat it again and obviously realising that he wasn't going to get away with mumbling it forever he said the technician would take the payment. I asked him how much and he said it would be between £45 and £72. So the cheeky bastards not only infect your computer with viruses and trojans they actually charge for the privilege.
Anyway, that was about 30 minutes that he wasn't able to infect some poor sod's computer. I feel I'm doing my bit to make the world a better place.
