What i'm more concerned/curious about is the way we've got to both the finals via stop-gap managers replacing managers midway thru a season.
I have no idea what this means and can onlyu guess - do the players play better when they are "playing" for an underdog manager? Is that what motivates them? Is that the only we can get to champs league finals?

It's always struck me how some managers get the absolute best out of their players whereas others, with the same squad, seem to have players under performing. AVB and Dimatteo is a classic example, Chelsea have just been a different team since avb went.
I guess that's the difference between a good manager and one not quite so good?
