You then don't eat, so your body has no clue when it's getting it's next meal - so it slows your metabolism down. You then have tea/coffee - which if it has sugar, spikes your BG, even without sugar there's a lot of evidence showing that caffeine (unless drunk with protein - i.e. a very milky coffee) spikes your BG levels too. If your rolls are white bread - that's bad carbs that spike your BG levels. Dinner should contain veggies not just protein and potatoes.

Ideally if you add breakfast in and cut down on caffeine intake it would help. Breakfast should be porridge with fruit, or yoghurt with granola and fruit, or granary toast with peanut butter (protein and good fats) or eggs (not fried and not every day) with granary toast. And make sure your fizzy water isn't flavoured as they're full of sugar and/or sweeteners.
Ever since I've started looking into losing weight I've realised I should eat breakfast. But its just something I find hard to do. I might make a point of doing so as I do like porridge and love peanut butter and toasted granary bread but thought peanut butter was mega fattening so haven't had any for years!

I have started bringing fruit in to work with me, or at least an apple a day. Dont have flavoured waters as the taste sickly to me, just aqua con gas!

If I'd known I was going to live this long I'd have taken better care of myself.

But, I'm fitter than Bananaman so I guess I'm not in too bad a shape.

Have a spliff whilst you are having your morning shit, then after your morning wank in the shower you will be more than ready for breakfast

I was going to suggest that he's probably eating too much in the evening if he's not waking up hungry and wanting breakfast. But this is MUCH better advice

It slows your metabolism down hugely - and you're doing that every day. And sadly, it doesn't speed up as quickly as it slows down. I hate eating first thing so i have a little yog drink before i leave for work so there's something going in at least, then eat when i get here as i'm hungry by then. If you slather peanut butter on and eat it every day it would be fattening, but nutrition wise it's very good for you spread thinly on granary toast. Helps with your daily protein intake.

Ideally you should be eating enough protein as per your body weight - i.e. if you weigh 80kg you should be eating about 80g of protein per day to maintain your weight. More if you want to build muscle, slightly less if you want to lose weight. But that's with lots of veggies and complex carbs. As a guide, an egg has about 6g of protein, chicken breast about 20g and tuna/salmon roughly 25g. And no heavy carbs late at night, try and get your carbs in earlier in the day while there's still time to burn them off.

We had a nutritionist at work a few weeks back and it was very very interesting. They also reckoned that balancing your BG levels is the key to a lot of things, weight loss, concentration, etc. And you should be snacking mid-morning and mid afternoon on things like a handful of nuts and seeds, or oatcakes with Houmus or Tahini, or fruit or yoghurt.

isnt it that you should have a big breakfast, and then less as the day goes on?

If I eat late or have a really big evening meal I tend to wake up absolutely Hank Marvin but if I ever go to bed hungry (doesnt happen often) I really dont feel like eating for at least an hour when I wake up
