Cool 2012 Olympics - The "Celebrating British Achievement" Thread

This thread will contain Olympics spoilers...

WOW! Men's Gymnastics team win the SILVER BRONZE medal! They weren't really expected to even make it to the final! Absolutely epic performance from the boys.

Edited after Japanese inquiry was upheld, after that Japanese lad fell off the pommel horse and called it a dismount

But for goodness sakes - a BRONZE medal in something we don't even compete well in, let alone excel!!! Apparently, 9 years ago we were 29th in the world - now we have Bronze. Fecking AWESOME!!!

Nah forget feeling disappointed it's not silver - any medal at all for men's team gymnastics is an almost unbelievably big achievement. To get into the final and beat USA, Russia, Germany etc is really, really magnificent. Historic, in fact.

They absolutely nailed their vaults, and the final floor routines were almost flawless. A joy to watch.

It's pretty much the only event I truly give a shit about, so am very excited and proud of our gymnastic boys right now

Stupid Japanese trying to ruin our fun, but we don't care, we know our boys have the higher ground.

Went to watch the judo today, not a lot to shout about for British fans. The Brits just don't make the weight any more in judo. Gold for Japanese girl and Russian man. Some very tough looking Tajiks and Mongolians about.

We watched the gymnastics while we had tea (we are relenting the tea in the living room rule while the olympics is on), we were absolutely glued to it, a real gutsy performance.

I love the Olympics, it will be on our tv all the time for the next few weeks.

We've been following the boys too... Absolutely nothing to do with the Whitlock family running the nursery that both our kids have and are going to!

So proud of Max and the team. They've worked so hard for this! Pesky Jap's getting medals for falling... meh!
