Default Calls to ban electronic cigarettes from public places..

My god, they just can't stop can they?

A comparatively safe and far healthier alternative is developed for people who would like to enjoy a smoke in public places without inconveniencing others. Still not good enough for these interfering bastards...

The BMA is worried that the more people start using e-cigarettes the more it will normalise something that looks like smoking. They have called for the ban on smoking in public places to be extended to e-cigarettes.

Not all smokers are like that but yes, most are. It has never been something that has bothered me since the ban came in.

I'm giving as much of a shite as smokers did me not wanting to reek of smoke when it was allowed in pubs

On a slightly more serious note it seems that the NHS is considering giving out E Cigs to people trying to stop smoking.

I rather they banned smokers from congregating in bunches outside the doors to pubs and restaurants or standing in groups puffing away and blocking the cycle path beside our local hospital.....

What's that got to do with the OP?

JJ. Thinking some people need to actually read threads and respond to the subject. Or just shut the fuk up. :-)

    Does smack of witch-hunt now.

The BMA should ask for some proper research to be done on these e-cig things before passing judgement. As far as they know at the moment it's safer than breathing air. Unlikely, granted, but they really dgas. Seems a bit unprofessional.

You could be right, only this thread is about electronic cigarettes, not smoking.

JJ. Hoping that helps, but somehow doubting it will....:-(

How about a ban on people eating in the street and public transport? That will save the NHS a lot of money as fatties will have to go without stuffing their faces from leaving work until they get home.

Actually, that's a bad idea as many will then drive instead if they can't eat on public transport, so will congest the roads as well as their arteries.

    So are e-cigarettes safe?

"The simple answer is we don't know," says Dr Vivienne Nathanson from the British Medical Association (BMA).
"It's a tricky one," says the company's chief executive officer, Lawrence Jones.

"It does look like smoking but could you stop someone from chewing a pencil or biting their nails? I don't think there's any difference between going for a caffeine break and having a nicotine break."
The BMA is worried that the more people start using e-cigarettes the more it will normalise something that looks like smoking. They have called for the ban on smoking in public places to be extended to e-cigarettes.
The BMA would do a hell of a lot more for public confidence and health sorting out medical cock-ups instead of hiding them under the table

    Or they could ask to read the research that was done to defeat the yank FDA in court when they tried it on over there, hell they could even try asking Google;

It will soon all be over, a little birdie tells me the NHS is going to ban employees from smoking anywhere on NHS property, during paid breaks or during lunch times.
And not in any issued work clothing anywhere, whether you're at work or not.
So if you want a smoke you need to change into your own clothing and leave the premises.

You miss the point. I think electronic cigarettes should be encouraged to stop the huddles of fag smokers outside buildings....
