Default Recommend me a bike platform to work from?

Its got to the point now that I seem to work on bikes more or less weekly and my rear paddock stand is falling apart. I dont have a front one stand so I think an investment on some sort of bike platform for me to work from is wise.

Even better the best mate is paying for it as I'm doing a load of work on his RF900

So what do you recommend? - Say up to around 200 notes?

All I want is something that allows me to work on the bike unhindered so I can remove front / rear wheels / etc

the machine mart lift is about as cheap as you can buy em.

abba stands come from Motorcycle Stands - Abba Stands, UK and lots of bike dealers, mail order co's
or consider the ulti-pro NWS - Manufacturers of original quality motorcycle accessories

There are quite a few on ebay Click here but I haven't tried any of them. I'm thinking of getting one myself in a few weeks, so I'm interested in any opinions as well.

    I have one of these:

Abba 500kg Superbike Lift. Uses the same swingarm pivot mountings as the regular abba stand (specific to each bike model), and lifts the bike hydraulically to comfortable working height. It's on castors, so you can move the bike around when elevated. It's ace.

See full details here: abba Superbike Lift 500KG - product details - Abba Stands, UK

They retail for £320 - mine is for sale, just £200 to you. Comes with SV650 and ZX6 pivot adaptors, other kits are available from Abba for £15 each.

That ABBA superbike lift is the bollocks ... - I'll have a think about it and get back to you once spoken to my mate.

There are also a few decent sealey units in ebay for around £100-£140 new that are also worth consideration.

    Cheers people

I have one of these CML2 Hydraulic Motorcycle Lift - Vehicle and Motorcycle Lifts - Machine Mart works fine, and cheap as chips. Infact, I bought mine on offer from Makro for ISTR 45 quid.

Use some wooden blocks for stabilising, and some ratchet straps and it holds the bike completely stable.

Proviso, it worked fine with my old TDM900, not tried it with my new CBF1000 yet, but I cant see why it wouldnt work just as well.

    Regards
