lots on here have those, a quick search will bring up a few threads on them.

I have the base unit and a 5 drawer middle box, they work well, My top box is an old Presto one.

Go to eBay. Get yourself a cheap snap-on roll cab.

Gumtree and PistonHeads also good for bargains.

Thing is, they are mighty solid, withstand all the knocks and bangs of day to day use. Everything from the chunky steel chassis to the heavy duty castors: it's all good. In the years I've had mine its been hit with a fair few bikes, had some major lathe parts dropped on it, trundled out to the car park and back. I guess you'd have to fill the drawers up with molten lead to overload it because I've tried it with tools and it just does its job no matter what.

I have two sets of their 'industrial' range. I would choose that over their professional range to be honest.

I have a Clarke Contractor (as far as I can tell its exactly like the Clarke Pro stuff but yellow instead of red) seven drawer rollcab, I've fired a bit of wenge kitchen worktop on the top, attached a small (ish( vice on there and had it for years, no bother.

its the bottom part of this...

The vice isn't the best but its the one I had at the time and if it ever breaks its not like I don't have enough other posher ones to chuck straight on.
As it has wheels it wobbles about a bit if I get to sawing something in the vice but I mostly use that vice to just hold something while I drill it.

Now, admittedly I don't drag the rollcab round behind the van fastened to the towhook so it doesn't get moved about much but its chocka with tools and very occasionally gets moved. Still fine, cost £270 or so and I didn't have to cross the country to pick it up, just nipped into the local Machine Mart.

Avoid the ones that don't have ball bearing runners though as when fully loaded I can't see them being too easy to open and close, plus the bearing ones are a lot smoother. The newer version has wheels that look like a barryboys Vauxhaul Nova but I suppose they go round just the same as the ones I have on mine.

I bought mine from Costco. Stainless with sealed bearing runners.
Way better than halfrauds or machine mart stuff.

I have the four drawer version which lives on a bench. Well made, very solid and the roller drawers are lovely compared to the non roller boxes. Halfords are always having tool sales to.

must not take part in tool box display..............must......not..........take.. ..............part.............must............... resist...........

I posted some pics once in a tool box pissing contest thread, that box has now doubled in size with a nifty extension to one side.

On a serious note though the only thing i can say is get a box that has bearing mounted drawers. Long term this will make a huge difference to how long the whole thing lasts and takes loaded drawers. Halfords stuff is ok but so is Clark or Teng. I buy Snap on because i use my tools daily, i have an account so can pay off weekly and am still using spanners i bought 15 years ago that are common sizes and would have easily worn out if i used cheaper stuff so whilst my 8mmm spanner cost me £9 15 years ago i haven't bought another on since where as i've seen cheap £2 stuff break on first use so it has been good value for money.

You do get ripped off on prices for some stuff and to deny it by saying you are paying purely for quality would be stupid but the stuff is good, they have some handy little gadget tools that are good ideas but possibly not something you would instantly think of needing or using, the guy comes to my shop weekly and i have some empty drawers i need to fill for a weekend hobby tinkerer i think halfords proffesional tools are great, life time guarentee and fairly good fit to size ratio i.e. 8mm is 8mm and not 8.2mm and expanding.

Women have shoes and handbags, i have Snap on tools and cabinets.

It is a thing of beauty. I would of had it away if it had fitted in the top box

I've got a Halfords 5 drawer chest and I'm very happy with it. Quite adequately sturdy and well priced. Despite having a fair variety of tools I can fit all the commonly used ones in the chest and the bigger stuff and power tools go in a couple of cupboards.

From my POV I don't want a roll cab or huge chest (fnarr) because the one I have is big enough to hold what I need for a day's racing yet not too big and heavy to lift into the van.
