Watching the coverage a couple of nights ago with the tight and twisty bits you then realise just how good Despres really is....... The way he was flicking the bike about under him to set up for each coming bend was made to look effortless in. omparison to some others ....... He might be a grumpy git but he sure can ride a bike. Shame mark coma wasn't there to push him this year as even with penalties and breakdowns he has looked comfortable at the front

Biggest achievement of this year's Dakar has to be the Race2Recovery team making it to the finish.

First ever disability team to do it.

The team’s Land Rover Defender-based Wildcat race vehicle and its crew, of driver Major Matt O’Hare and co-driver Corporal Phillip Gillespie, completed their sensational achievement as they crossed the finish line of the final stage in Santiago, Chile, on Saturday evening to signal the end of an extraordinary two weeks of racing that saw the team’s other three Wildcat vehicles fall out of the race at various stages along the way.
