    Get out of London

    2/3 day 'Escape to the Country' course -
    if you spend virtually all your life locked inside the M25, and wish you could find some great roads for riding, then this is an opportunity to escape from "The Smoke'.

    Our carefully planned route to mid-Wales starts near Oxford (just over an hour from central London) over brunch, then follows a selection of excellent twisty B roads through the Cotwolds and the hills of Worcestershire and Shropshire, with lunch in Tenbury Wells, arriving in the early evening in Montgomery in the Welsh borders.

    Accommodation is in a comfortable, mid-priced hotel, with good food and wine on offer, as well as some excellent real ale for the beer drinkers.

    Next morning the two day course then heads down towards Llanbister and Presteigne before returning to England and more great roads back to Oxford in the early evening, covering around 300 miles in total.

    If you opt for the extra day, then the second day heads up and over the Cambrian mountains and back via some narrow mountain roads (weather permitting) and then back to Oxford on the third day, with around 500 miles being covered over the three days.

    * 2 Day / one person £230
    * 3 Day / one person £440
    * 2 Day / two persons £345
    * 3 Day / two persons £535
    * for larger groups contact me for a price

    Please note this will be a mid-week course to avoid peak tourist bookings and weekend traffic. As the emphasis on this course is enjoying the roads as much as the training, the training element will normally cover my normal "Bends" one day course. Prices exclude accommodation.

    Default Survival Skills -- sponsor of TRC -- From the online shop

    OFFERS FROM THE SURVIVAL SKILLS SHOP

    SURVIVAL SKILLS e-books on CDROM: Survival Skills offers three e-books for riders

    Survival Skills (Course Notes) -
    Course Notes is a structured guide to developing the basics of advanced riding skills. It explains the techniques in a logical progression, tells you what they are for, how to apply them and what the pitfalls are, and also suggests alternatives where there are areas of riding where expert riders hold different opinions. Explanations of how your brain operates allow the reader to see how to use that knowledge to further enhance their learning and riding skills:

    "I bought Survival Skills and Tarmac Tactics some time back when he had a special offer on for the pair of them.

    They're very well written, and the great thing about them is that they're not "cookbooks" (i.e. to get the end result, follow this recipe...). What you get is a clear and very readable explanation of the hows and the whys of riding, carefully broken down into the individual aspects so you get the fundamental understanding to build on, rather than having to try and take a more complex situation apart.

    Plus I found some of the stuff in there downright fascinating, particularly the sections on how you think and react while riding, and how to train your instinctive reactions into doing the right thing in an emergency. Plus there's a selection of stories from his experiences as an instructor - some of which had me laughing, and some of which had me cringing. So, er, yes... they get a big thumbs up from me."

    Tarmac Tactics -
    looks at different scenarios you'll encounter on the road. It shows how to assess the dangers as you ride by looking at accidents statistically, so that you can better see where dangerous situations are likely to arise and you can choose to approach them with a better awareness of the risks

    Getting Started -
    has everything you need to know if you are thinking about learning to ride or just starting out on two wheels. Guides to law and licences will explain how to get onto two wheels. Once you have your provisional licence, the CDROM will offer you comprehensive help from a qualified instructor to get you through your test with minimum fuss
