I used to like your slightly outlandish iPhone claims and put downs of other brands but recently if anyone responds in kind saying something that would upset dear Steve then a certain person starts throwing his toys out and threatening to hit people. We aren't allowed any humour or parody when it might have the slightest affect on his sales bonus.

No, it seems I was being too subtle for some of you. All one was trying to express was that the time to get all excited about smart phones has well and truly passed. They all do more or less the same thing and your Grannys' probably got one.. It's finished. I said so.

As for parodying iJobs then parody away, some of them are quite funny.. others seem to involve putting "i" in front of a puerile word. Which is not particularly clever or funny.

Who is this certain person who threatens to hit people? do you mean Screwd? I wish (you) people had the bottle to make claims like men.... I don't think he'd really really hit a person? he's got laminate flooring. OTOH some folk are ignorant of apples and do repeat ad-infinarti the same old urban myths and stereotype anybody using their goods as a slavish latte lizard with some vaguely "media job" possibly involving black polo-necks and homosexuality. This fast becomes frustrating, silly, annoying, all of the above.

I wasn't knocking you as you don't take Apple insults personally, I was lamenting the loss of some of the funnier Apple/M$ discussions. It was Screwdriver's keyboard warrior moments I spoke of but didn't name him as I didn't think it necessary, I don't have a vendetta against the chap.
And yes I have made some poor iJokes, bite me.

I posted a rant 1. because I was angry and 2. to have the thread removed.

I have had to ask for quite a few threads to be removed because some people think it's a great idea to keep linking this alias to my employer. This is supposed to be an anonymous forum. So for the record: this site crops up high on Google, ergo it's easy to find. If I am identified by my employer, bringing the company into disrepute, I will get sacked.

I can't keep asking kindly for threads to be removed so in the longer term, I will simply have to stop posting here.

That's not a challenge incidentally but having mentioned it, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if I get "outed" by some dimwit - deliberately. Having made a LOT of very good friends on here, that would be a shame but fuck it, I LOVE my job more.

...and yes, some of the arguments have been hilarious so you can imagine how frustrating it is not to be able to "go off on one" any more.

So don't post stuff that could get you fired on the Apple threads then.

On the flip side, if your employer sees you making helpful and informative posts in your spare time which are likely to lead to sales, you may be promoted. You shouldn't be losing your rag in these threads anyway, whether or not it could cost you your job.

And it's not just specific manufacturers threads. For some reason, my employment status keeps popping up wherever I post. People seem to think it's "funny" I have to kill my own threads now on a regular basis.

Don't post in threads that could cause conflict with your employment, hardly rocket science and you won't be the first who has to take that into consideration.

If it comes up on other threads, ignore it. Why not act like an ambassador for your employer?
