    I have a scenario for college. Edinburgh office is expanding and opening a Glasgow office. Edinburgh has a established network with one server. Would i be best to set up Glasgow office the same and what is the best way to link the two networks?

    Any help or links would be gratefully appreciated

    Depends on how much data you want to share between sites, whether you want to share voice and/or video as well as data, (and how much you want to pay).

    Have a look at Etherflow - Ethernet Services - Networks - BT Business

    Other providers are available.

    Simple NTFS file sharing and security between departments. I am told a database in the brief and it looks like it would be customers details in the database.

    depending on how technically minded you are, you could do it with iptables (even through a gui --- fwbuilder)
