Identity Cloakers info.

Does anyone have any experience of these programs? With working away a lot, and generally having to suffer crappy local TV, I'd like to watch programs from sites such as BBC iPlayer and youtube. sites which that particular country I'm in might have banned, or are unavailable due to IP adresses and the like.

Are they any good? Fool proof and easy to use (Computer numpty)

I've seen that one cloaker site (The first one that comes up on google) charges a subscription, which I'm more than happy to do, as long as it's value for money.

That would be the easiest solution I would have thought, you can get a work through proxy server easily enough.

I suspect the replies are well meaning but vagueness is deliberate, there will be people telling you what should work but I bet you'll not find anyone telling you what does work for them in your situation.

Short of leaving your PC in the UK on and VPNing to it from abroad, or having a mate who doesn't mind running a proxy server during all the hours you might want to connect and letting you leech his bandwidth (assuming his broadband can handle it), I think you're stuffed.

You need to get a server with a proxy on it obviously.

I can't get iPlayer etc from where I am. Sports you can 'generally' find streamed online from forrin Tv Stations who, it seems, don't care as much - although youi have to put up with their rotten commentary obviously. Other stuff, if popular enough, you can search for free streams - a lot comes up pretty promptly (i.e within a few days) of transmission.

I gave up with proxy solutions, nothing free worked and I'm too tight to pay.

HotspotShield isn't going to get him iPlayer. That'll need paying for and nobody's going to post the address of a private one, if one does indeed work at all.
