    Default Mac book MC374LL

I can get one for £750.

    Should I?

I've been considering replacing my laptop for a while and now this has come up.
They are US model machines though, so apart from the plug (and @ key) will there be any difference?

I have one of the older models. Its a fantastic machine but I'm not sure its twice as good as another manufacturers laptop of half the price, IYSWIM?

well it'll be set to 110V, obv. Then you'd better have a long hard look at warranty conditions. Experience with laptops (not macs though) bought through HMF seems to be a total washing of hands if things go wrong 'coz you're outside country of purchase.

The DC input will be the same across the world I imagine and I strongly suspect the input to the transformer will be dual voltage, it is with every other laptop I've had for 10yrs.
Just the plug will be different.

Warranty is a concern, but I assumed with it being Apple that it will be worldwide.
I can buy it from an American PX (the same as a naafi) and whenever I've used my card there it always comes up on my statement as Dallas, Texas.
The yanks are big on discount for their forces people and I can probably get even more than that off.

Atm I have a HP Pavillion DV6 that is about 18 months old.
It does what its supposed to but I don't think its as robust as a Mac would be.
If I'm going to get a new one anytime in the next 6 months or so then it would make sense to get it cheaper here.

It's a nice price, but for another £250 you can have the bang up to date i5 processor version, which would be a uk model.

I have a US model I bought out there. Differences are a different socket on the power supple (apple power supplies are modular so you only have to change the actual plug part, cheap) and keyboard. US keyboards have a slightly different arrangement of the enter key and the ones near it. As well as different markings (The Yanks need 'shift' and 'enter' written out on them instead of just symbols

Apart from that it's the same.
