Cheap HP Touchpad

While it doesn't seem the best tablet around, the discontinued Touchpad is being flogged off at $99 in the states, down from ~$500 and rumours of it happening here at ~£89 though a little search just now didn't show anything.

If it happens, give a heads up in this thread!

Thing is though, while tempting at first, what apps is it going to run? None because all app development (what there was of it) will have stopped overnight.

Not knocking it though, we have one at work. It's, y'know, fine. But it's never going to be more than a web browser/email checker. Still a good deal if you can get hold of one for 90 quid, but it'll always be limited.

I thought briefly about getting one but as I currently have two iPads and a PlayBook I probably shouldn't

I want one, but errr... what does it do?

Can I sit and surf the web in my front room? Buy holidays online from it? i.e. do all websites work properly on it?

wankers. I'll never buy anything from dixons they always were rippoff merchants. Probably just a big advertising ploy and they only had two in stock

Right well I just bought two for £624 from Amazon, on the basis that when they lower the price I can get them to lower the price I paid. It's either the most amazing thing I've ever done or the most stupid thing I've ever done!

BestBuy in the US had about 200,000 HP Touchpads unsold so they tried to get HP to take them back! I'm guessing they said no looking at the price!

Saw this article yesterday about a group working to get Android on it too.
