Yeah, Aperture. Neither Aperture or Lightroom are available on a tablet though and wouldn't be unless seriously stripped-down. You need pretty beefy desktop specs to get the best out of them as it is.
Thought I would do a quick update to the Apple experience after roadtesting it for a couple of weeks.
I admit that it doesn't grate on me anywhere near as much anymore, and that it's an intuitive little thing that I cannot think my parents would find anything but fairly easy to use. I still find it annoyingly controlled by Apple/iTunes. But I doubt ma&pa would be bothered by that so it's OK. I am also fairly impressed by the stuff available in the iTunes shop, should they get on with using their plastic to buy anything. And there really is an app for most things, even if you have to pay. Good App Store. I don't like the minimalist approach to slots/plugins - everything has to go via that daft plug and be bought separately. And actually, much as the unit is really beautiful by design, to hold and carry, I don't like it. It's heavy, and feels like I'll accidentally drop it some time soon. Felt far better when I got a proper case for it (not the Smart Cover).
But overall, I do find it slips into my hand far too easily, lives on the bedside table etc... So although there isn't really a need for it, it's handy for the instantness to browsing and utilities that it offers. I don't need a tablet, but...need and want are two different things ;-)
I would be really interested to roadtest a Galaxy 10, especially from the point of what apps and productivity can be achieved from it, multimedia and browsing. I'd be a bit disappointed if I got one, and then found that the apps for it were crap and rendered it not much more than a keyboardless browser.
I don't like them without cases either. Too smooth and slippery, always scared you'll drop it.
I wouldn't bother with Apple cases though - too expensive. For both my v1 and v2 I've just gone down the Chinese child slave eBay route. A tenner or so gets you a nice fitted 'leather' folio case that acts as a stand. The v2 cases often even have the magnets in so they automagically switch on/off when you open/shut the case, like the Apple ones.
That said, a few people here at work have the Apple smart cases and love them. I can't see the point personally.
What will be interesting is, having had some experience with an iPad, what you make of the multitude of copycats.
I've found them intensely irritating when they jump and jerk around instead of smooth scolling or (because it's pretty much a free for all with app development) each app has it's own alien interface. Lots of plusses for the availability of standard ports and input/output options though but that would make it a different type of device.
My V1 iPad could be a lot zippier for browsing too.
