Telly ............ Help Recquired

The TV is connected to a recordable DVD machine which incorporates a freeview box.

I set it to record something. I then switch on the TV and the screen tells me that it is
"Disc Format" it then says "Initalsaton Comlete"

I click OK and we go back to "Disc Format" and so the merry go round continues.

If I can get the disc out it might be OK. Advice would be appreciated. I've got a big hammer and I've got a crowbar I thought a more subtle attack would be appriopate

Might help if you told us the make and model. though personally I'd go the big hammer route.

And it probably refers to a disk rather than a disc 'cos our colonial friends can't spell.

Well I know how to spell. And I know how to read and copy what I read so I can reproduce it accurately. What more "fuck all" do you want me to know?
