    Default New TV, HD question

I have a new Panasonic LED TV & the picture quality is excellent. So much so that I can't really notice the improvement in picture quality when I watch stuff in HD.

I was under the impression that HD would blow my socks off. The difference is marginal at best. Am I missing something?

I can do surround sound so maybe I'm half way there. A penis is like a willy isn't it? Only smaller.

lolz, engineer. mine wouldn't drill through the wall as it was tile hung. i had to do it for him.

anyway, did you change to the new tv and sky hd at the same time? what did you have before to compare against? as i say, i noticed a serious improvement going from a crt to lcd and then another improvement going from sky (scart) to sky hd (hdmi).

My engineer had swallowed the company manual - he drilled a hole in my wall & then tied his ladder to a steele eye in the hole just to climb up one floor to test the signal

Anyway, I swapped from an old school Sony trinitron CRT set to the LED flat screen. But that's not really relevant because what I'm comparing is the "normal" broadcast of a program (eg tonight the gadget show) & then flicking to the HD version of the same program. On the same TV. & I can't tell the difference.

What size screen are we talking about? (and what's the model number?)

From standard to HD should be the difference between a fuzzy JPG and a crisp photo.

You won't see it on anything less than 32 inchish but on a 42 incher it should be amazing. Check your settings on the telly for that HDMI input, should be set to 1080i at least (dunno coz I don't have SkyHD). Failing that, check out BBC1/BBC1HD.

    Do you have Freesat?

    Screwd.
