Going to spend a bit on the pc , tell me about ssd

Which ssd should i get or should i not get one , I was looking at the crucial site as they seem good 128 gig ...

    128 gig m4 ssd is it a good option , It will have win 7 and bf3 on it initially

    someone will doubtless be along soon, but for a PC I don't really see the point, unless they're very fast.

    And there's the point.

    Whack the OS and program files on the SSD and keep a regular HDD for docs and saving stuff etc etc

    Good point but not all SSDs are created equal. Check Toms Hardware for comparison charts and get the fastest read cycle one you can afford. Read cycles are more important in a games machine. Personally I'd save the money and get a good quality high speed standard spinny drive and spend the rest on more RAM and a better GPU.

    How about a hybrid?

    The limited read write worries me, specially on the cheaper ones that have rudimentary intelligence in relation to maximising lifespan-type-stuff. The more expensive ones appear to have more 'cleverer-er' firmware to make sure that you evenly write.
