Email forwarding , pop, imap etc!

Please can someone advise me?
I have a couple of email addresses for my websites, lynne@calla-salon.co.Uk, and another one.
I use outlook 2007 on my laptop, and the inbuilt mail apps on my iPad and iPhone.
I have a couple of issues...
First - sometimes when I try to reply to an email on the iPad/iPhone it won't let me, saying that the server doesn't allow relaying.
Second - I just don't seem to be able to set up email for the other email account on my iPad/iPhone.
I think they must be different sorts of email forwarding, but I have no idea where to look to determine this, and then what to do with the information anyway!

I know there's pop, and there's imap, I think. How do I tell the difference?

I have just updated to Windows Live mail and set up was very easy.

First you will need to do a search for your e mail provider details (like this How do I set up Windows Live Mail 2011? ) on that information it will tell you if it's Pop or imap also it will give you in and out server addresses.

Repeat the proses for your salon e mail address.

ISTR you can only have one exchange connection to your iphone, and that gmail behaves like an exchange mail account. It was a bit of an issue for me, as I used exchange at work and gmail for home.

Also:
A pop account copies emails from your 'real' mail server to your phone. You can delete a mail from your phone and it'll still be on the server.

With an Imap account, an email deleted on the phone will be deleted on the server also. It's working with the real emails, not copies.

Was true for OS3 I think, not 4 onwards.
