That's just photos. Might add the same again of music, but it's less important as I have the CDs

Well, disaster averted after all. Took it apart a bit last night and noticed that the hd had come slghtly loose in its socket - pushed tightly back and everything fine! A good warning though, left it backing up before work this morning

As ever, most electrical problems are mechanical in nature.
