The rear camera lens cover sits flush with the rear case, every time you put it down it goes down on the lens cover, and they've compounded it with the one X by making the rear cover fixed.

It'll get scratched to buggery in no time and banjax any photos taken, even if you get a case it sticks out a tad on the ones I've seen.

Had my desire for more than a year and my lens isnt scratched?

The photo you posted shows the lens is recessed below a rim. I agree not ideal but it seems to work to a degree as mine is fine. If you use the HTC sense feature you would lay it face down anyway.

Had my desire for 2 years plus and the cover needs the scratches polishing out every 6 months or so, do a Google its a very common gripe.

The recessed on the right is the one s, the non recessed one on the left is the one x, again Google it, no reports of scratching yet (its not been out long enough) but plenty of talk about it, enough to put me off for a while to see how the land lies.

    This phone is really nice.

I'm gonna be getting a case so I'll be looking at how the issue you highlighted is addressed.

I've put the Go Launcher UI on because I've always liked it but what do you mean by having the phone faced down because of sense?

I thought that was just the icons and lock screen or have I missed something?

Suppose to a degree it will have to do with how you look after things as well.
I keep mine in a sleeve when out of the house and don't put the phone near keys or coins etc.

I've seen plenty phones marked up by keys etc.

By the way both lenses are recessed in that picture. But hey I'm not going to argue.

That's a trick of the photo then
I keep my phone in my left pocket, its my phone pocket and not used for anything else, no keys no lighters no change, the damage is all from putting it down on its back on a table or desk etc.

I just got a pouch case so anything that happens will be my fault and my fault alone.

Like dropping my iPhone and cracking the screen or keeping a huge bunch of keys in the same pocket as my Galaxy.
