Question Got a problem on the PC on start up, can anyone help please

    OS Windows 7
The problem, fire up my home PC and log on as me.
Everything loads up then I get a Run DLL caption box on the screen stating the following:
    There was a problem starting C:\users\mick\appdata\local\temp\0.440427547663141 5.exe
The specified module could not be found.

I have tried resetting the pc back to an earlier point when everything was ok but this is not sorting it. To date it has had no impact on what I am doing, its just a tad irritating. Can anyone offer an easy solution or do I just carry on pressing the ok button to get rid of the caption?

    Cheers

dunno anything about 7 but seeing as it a oddly named executable in your temp file I would

1 download & run Ccleaner-useful thing this. Cleans all your caches & temp files & the next tab has a registry fixer. I run the cleaner bit everytime before I shutdown.
    CCleaner - Download

2 update & run all your av & malware

3 restore you computer to a known good earlier point even if it's a month ago.

    HTH

PS 4 what have you recently installed? Either of you! e.g. my GF plays these stupid games. I'm positive it's what lies behind any of the problems her PC has. In fact that's a useful excercise-go through what's on the add/delete software biut in the control panewl, google for what you don't recognise & if it's not essential & you don't use it remove it! Obv create a restore point BEFORE you do this!

It's starting up after windows has loaded therefore check your msconfig startup files...

    START > RUN

    type 'MSCONFIG'

Select startup tab ... untick anything you dont want to start at startup ...

    Reboot pc

Will give option 1 & 2 a spin. Already tried option 3 a few times to no avail. We don't down load games but will check Lottys just in case. Thanks for the info
