how to turn an android phone (galaxy S3) into a PC?

GF needs a device she can do her usual FB, ebay, emails & other shite as her own proper PC has become unreliable. She's got a samsing galaxy S3 which is a quad core device & a darned sight more powerful than anything else in this building. I bought a powered HDMI output cable for her so that's the display end of things. We've the usual wired & wireless keyboards/mice, but not a bluetooth enabled anything.

Can I somehow get these peripherals to work on it? I've seen some youtube stuff involving the bluetooth keyboards-so the next Q is if it has to be bluetooth can someone recc a cheap keyboard please?

Right now she's got my laptop plugged into her monitor togther with her own keyboard & mouse. It's doing fine, but I'd like it back. So this is kind of important, but not urgent!

I paid about £12 for one for my Nexus. Amazon is the way forward.

No offence old chap but with all your posts about jury rigging PC's that really is the simplest way of solving ALL your problems

Firstly, it wont really turn it into a PC really, just a bigger Smartphone. Seems an obvious statement, but sometimes I have people at work overlook the obvious stuff like...what do you need it to do? It won't be running windows like her PC is, so it wont be like your laptop. No Office, no outlook etc etc.

As long as you've thought about what you're trying to achieve, and what the limitations of an S3 are then something like this:

Has she got fat fingers? My old (2006) imac finally span it's last gentle cycle (about nov last year) however the iPhone is more than adequate for email, FB and eBay, the eBay app makes listing items easier than the full fat version.

i now have a lovely new imac, which is only really used for DVDs and pirate crime.

none taken-quite right. As it happens I think I've sussed the root of all her problems. No it isn't some kind of homeopathic witchy aura that causes anything in her office to crash (although that does fit the observable facts). Yes it is her bastard USB printer. Can't believe it's taken me nearly a year to work that out, esp as I should have known better to pull everything out & reapply it one by one...

Also known as "the field of Nem"

It might be possible use the S3 as a PC. With a bit of digging around on the Internet you should be able to find instructions for install Ubunto Linux on it. Depends if you want risk turning an expensive phone into an expensive brick I suppose.
