Question why might a PC now not run flash games? I have fiddled with it though...

shitty old socket A, XP, 2GB quality ram ddr400, which whilst the GF was away I spent some considerable time overclocking it. It all worked fine, youtube, DVDs, multiple windows open etc. very well in fact as it should have done.

GF returns. Crashes instantly soon as she fires up AOL. Back off on the FSB quite a bit (15%) to a previously known to me rock solid. AOL now fine, ebay etc. But when she starts playing those infantile flash player games on facebook, FB then closes. So she tells me-not seen it myself just yet.

Any ideas before I lob the fecking thing?

ok, you're only looking at hardware here.

    what OS?

    what browser?

have either recently been upgraded (automatically)?

    flash plugin up to date?

    XP

    Chrome

chrome quite possibly-it does that by itself. XP no updates & I have windows set to d/l & notify. Actually there were some XP security updates on my own PC over the last couple of days. I'll check later but I bet they're not installed.

There was a flash player update on her desktop this morning. She hasn't of course installed it

When she eventually gets off the sodding thing I'll have a looksee into chrome settings & see about updating the plug in-or would the update notification sitting on the desktop waiting agreement to d/l & install take care of all of that? There's Opera & FF on it too.

Cheers DB. It's all stable this morning so far. I swear she's jinxed-she can't wear a wristwatch because every single one stops working within a week. Actually maybe I shouldn't be so about her-or I might be typing 'ribbit'.

ah-I see Chrome has it's own plug in. Right well manually updated the adobe, FF sort of ran a bit of youtube & then froze. So I backed the FSB down another small decrement to 180 (bless!) & boom. Well on FF at least. I did get an error after windows etc had loaded about a registry file duplicate having to be used to get something working. Rebooted again & no such message. memory speed is 1:1 & timings are safe. SPD & 1T. cpu= 1.9Ghz.Dunno. It all ran fine at 200 1:1 CS3, 2.25Ghz previously. PCI/AGP is locked at 36/72. I watched some trailer for hangover 3 several times, bit of Queen at Knebworth & a rubbish DVD on that.
