Default Saving a video from an iPhone

I video'd my youngest at his school show last week, while doing so the phones memory reached its limit and I couldnt do any more on the day.
Now I'm trying to get the vid from the phone, it seems to download but gives an error code ( error -36: an I/O error occured (picture 001.MOV) )

Any suggestions on how to rescue this?

The video itself plays on the phone, I'm just about to try and load it on my macbook and see if that makes a difference, I haven't done that yet so dont know if its different from the PC I've used for years.

Possibly because it never managed to write the "end of file" coding?
