    Default Fax to email services

Due to the disinterest in faxes nowadays I'm looking to bin Rightfax servers due to the huge upgrade cost (approx 6,000 per fax user), has anyone else made the leap and found a good alternative?
Initially I wanted an online service but I expect that would entail changing all the fax numbers, not great.

    Any thoughts?

At work, we use eFax.com but we did end up with a 0870 number, I am guessing you could set up a line redirect to that kind of service to retain the existing numbers. I have no idea on cost though.

Depends what you need in all honesty... I have recently upgraded our printer network which includes a central fax bureau as part of the end solution so users now 'print to fax' via an MFD.

You can port existing geographic numbers across to efax.

Thanks chaps. I'm still waiting for a list of people who use faxes to ask them why.

Their website says otherwise, I've emailed them to check.

    I use these guys:
    www.sipgate.co.uk

You can port numbers in for 20 a number. I only ported in our phone number and started a new fax number with them, but I'm sure they'll port any number.

Do you have to port it? You can re-direct the incoming number, it'll be a lot cheaper than 6000

You can't port all numbers but the efax rep that called also suggested re-directing the lines, he said that might not work either but at least it's possible.

I think you need to speak to their corporate section

I had one of them call me (after selecting email contact only), they can probably do it but it depends on a few things.

Mainly if there's any other services on the line iirc. Once you transfer the number you lose the line so any broadband, redcare, etc will need to ceased and reprovisioned on another line first.
