    Default BT Aaaaagg!

Just foolishly, as it turns out, switched to BT broad band, delivered on an existing BT open reach phone line, previously connected to talk talk via (ADSL) all worked although very slowly on upload. BT would guarantee faster upload speed within certain parameters Yadayada. Imagine the joy as on the switchover day.... Talk talk duly disappears, BT hub arrives on time ADSL filter box check, computer connects to Hub check, and Boom! No broad band...nada still nada and we're three days and counting. Utter B*****ds. customer service claiming the broadband "supplier" wont reply to their enquiry for 48 hours etc and if F-ing BT.

So if I cancel the package due to "non delivery" what's the quickest way to get fast BB without a cable connection. There's only a BT line in the house. Point to point (I don't mean Sky) BB is unavailable here I'm not in line of sight to a transmitter receiver. So what else is out there that i might have missed......I have heard sky dish BB speeds are variable and weather dependent.

Currently using a dongle and 3G connection which I use when away with work.

Don't cancel - there is generally only one fixed line infrastructure and BT is it ( or are you part of the south yorkshire digital region?) - if not, BT will be the first to roll out higher capacity. anyone else (except maybe SYDR) will be going through BT cabs

That's why I went with them, Infinity switch over imminent locally. They just seem incapable of switching the BB on again after talk talk.

Note to self...should I move to Sheffield? ........by Friday...... I need it for work......can one use tinternet for uploads and down loads at a library or will it be dial up!

You on twitter? If so, tweet @btcare and they'll get onto it for you.

Don't cancel it! Ring again and again and again. Ask demand to go higher each time. Take names. Record the calls and let them know it's being done. Be a PITA. It's hassle for you, but more hassle not to have it.

"BT" are not one company. Well, they sort of are, but they're not allowed (by imposed regulation) to deal with themselves as one company - each bit is separate and must deal with each other bit as independent suppliers.

The problem may also be at the Talktalk side - they may have cut you off OK but not released the line so BT Broadbean can pick it up

Don't give up, Infinity is worth the money and the wait.

*I am not a fan of BT in any way shape or form. But I have suffered them all my working life and am getting used to their "little ways"

I'd agree with redorzrd, dont just give up, keep phoning them for updates.

I also immediately thought the issue would be at the talktalk end as well, having dealt with them before their business practices border on the unlawful some of the time, so I wouldn't necessarily put the blame with BT immediately.

TalkTalk actually use much of Virgins infrastructure before unbundling onto the BT copper at the exchange. The problem may well be on TTs side of the fence.

It is possible that TT haven't released the line. BT Consumer (the people you're dealing with) can check with BT Wholesale (who look after the kit in the exchange) to see if there is still a "tag" on the line from TT.

Life used to be so much simpler.....

Well, tweeted and now emailed to the link provided by the twitter peep. Found myself writing a huge diatribe pointing out the error of their ways and customer dis-service etc etc.

I got a laugh out of Talk talk they tweeted to me (watching BT's feed) "Anything I can do for you?" Emma at talk talk.
I may yet tweet that the first one to get me connected wins. If I wasn't so pissed about it it would be quite amusing.
I will have to wait it out and hope they will give me a new zzr14 as compo

Still no connection and a week and counting. Twitter got an immediate response but the same old same old, they hide behind the "Our supplier of BB fucked up but we don't know how why or who" and "What's more, we wont talk to you about things that have already happened, that's just tough and we cant do anything about it so we wont discuss it" Internal divisionalisation market bollocks and smoke screen to boot, isolates them and me from getting anything done......They are now starting to deny they promised a minimum upload speed.

I get better service at, well, practically everywhere.

Sucks, but you won't get better service anywhere in the Telecoms market

Yeeehaar! It only bloody works! Alleluia!

They'll be telling me that you can stream BT Sports (Moto GP) on my smart TV next. If I only knew which is the best App to download on it? ....It's a Panasonic Smart Viera which is connected to my now working router.......... anyone done that yet? None of the apps mention a "Smart TV" suitable download. Just mobile tablets (Iphone and ipads on the apple apps store) and laptops.

I presume I could download the same player app to the smart TV? (not the apple ones obviously).

Still I have a few weeks before it kicks off

Does the tv have a web browser? If so, go to sport.bt.com and enter your BT ID if you have one, and see if you can watch online through the browser.
