I hope so, because some of the things my Mum did and my Dad still does drive me nuts!
Was thinking about my mothers obsession with cleaning, we used to come home from school to a list of jobs to do round the house, not instructions to do the homework.
I am the opposite, are happy to leave the washing up till the morning, vacuuming can wait another day and the lawn can mow itself! Tis a good job our lass gives me a bi of grief to do it else the place would be a shit tip.
I wonder if our son will be the same as my mum in that he needs to tidy stuff up after living the way we do.
What say you?
All kids rebel against their parents, so if your parents are obsessively tidy, you won't be, and because you are not, your children will be.
My parents are amazed that my daughter turned out to be "normal", given that she has a joint smoking vodka fuelled biking mum, but how else would she rebel?
Baldness skips a generation. But since it is passed on through the female you will have to look to the mothers grandfather to see if your kid will be bald like you. If the the mothers brothers are bald then your kid won't be. I think. Could be wrong. I'm not a geneticist anyway, so can't be blamed if you listen to anything I say. So ner.
On the other hand my youngest is just exactly like her mother and she didn't get to know her. So what does that mean?
Of course it skips.
My Dads an argumentative so-and-so who always thinks he's right. He'll happily shout louder and louder in an argument to make sure his point is heard, then once he's said it, he'll leave the room, not giving anyone a chance to say their part.
However, My grandad was a charming, good looking fellow.
But as far as family traits in general skipping a generation I would say that that is not necessarily so. And it isn't always just the physical traits. As I say, my youngest looks and acts just like her mother, sometimes unnervingly so, and she was raised by me, she never knew her mother after her first year. It can really knock me for a loop sometimes when I catch a glimpse of her sitting and reading a book or the way she stands at the stove and scrambles an egg. Just her attitude in general. And I swear she must have been born with a phrase book pre-installed.
