Default Transferring stuff from one computer to another.

As mentioned in another thread, I've just bought an all-singing games computer.

All my games are on my Steam a/c, and having just checked the size of the folder, it's 98GB.

I don't fancy downloading that lot in one go.

What's the procedure for getting all that from this computer to my new one? In easy to understand form, that's not full of geeky jargon that I can't comprehend, as I'm not a computer wiz like some of you lot.

I'm using Win 7, and the folder involved is shown in :-

Computer > Local Disc (C ) and the folder is titled Games, (surprisingly ).

    Ta for any input.

Steam has an option to backup all your games to their cloud service for this, however thebit they don't tell you is that it won't transfer the savegames from non steam games. As I found out when I tried to backup my Total War Shogun 2 campaign and it didn't.

Alternatively mount your old hard drive as a secondary drive in the new machine.

Easiest way, if you dont want to mount it in the machine then an external dock for the HDD may be an easy option. Once you've copied the stuff off the HDD it can be used for backups.

I used Windows Transfer for my sons PC and it copied all his games info over. I use it regularly at work as well, copying over work profiles with Photo's/Videos etc, so 25+GB of data each time with no issues via LAN. You can also just transfer to a USB HDD and then have a backup of that profile as well.
