Hi guys I would like your advice, As some of you know I am in the middle of taking my lessons to get through my test and I am learning on a suzuki sv 650 which I love. But can you recomend a good V Twin starter bike mostly for town tootling as I already have a Kawasaki Vn800 for those longer journeys, Cheers in advance guys
why did I know that was coming...LOL
Do you like the SV? The Kawasaki ER6 has a good reputation, both are raced so they must have something about them. Or an old 600 monster.
My first bike after the test was an un-faired SV650, loved it. After many race bikes I'm going to a Ducati 696 which I think is basically a slightly more tarty SV.
Test ride them all. See which one gives you that thrill you deserve for your first post test bike.
You can't go wrong with the SV650
If you're riding an SV I presume that means you're doing DAS? As such why not hang on to the SV which is a great everyday bike, albeit with economy suspension. As Danny says the ER-6 gets good reviews also. It's a parallel twin but with a 90 degree crank so it fires and sounds like a v-twin without the cost and weight of 2 separate cylinders.
Unless you want a REAL economy bike (in which case I'd say a 500) those 2 should be at the top of your list.
Thanks guy Yes I love the SV650 and for some reason I didnt like the er5 the gear lever just didnt feel right and looking at the er6 it looks the same so will be giving that a miss (even tho I love Kawis)
Panigale R. Anything less marks you out as some kind of whoopsy.
