Default 2002 Kawasaki ZX9R 50,000 mile tidy up...

... my best mates bike won't start.

Suspected alarm / immobiliser as the alarm has been a bit weird lately so this has been replaced.

It won't start... as soon as hit starter button all dash lights, etc. go out ...

    Battery voltage is fine.

I suspect a short somewhere but anything a common issue on the 9R worth checking?

I've told him to check fuses, pull apart switch gear - clean and grease and also the main loom plug near the tank / dash and go from there.

Given the indicators turns the bike off I suspect bad connections at one of the above.

Will get him to check it but he is ready to throw the towel in with the bike... it's been a pain recently so told him to get it up to me and leave it with me for a couple of weeks.

Even worse spend over 400 on new brakes for it and after two weeks they look like this:

So much for GALFER disks being high quality FFS

    (wheels being refurbed very soon)

The paint on the wheels was shocking to start with , as was it on the swing arm. Mine started coming off after about 9 months - but as I had bought it as a parallel import for 5K, from some shyster in Stoke, there was no comeback

Even better, they didn't bother to tighten up the front calliper bolts. One fell out a Uttoxeter. I realised at Towcester ....

They look suspiciously like the incredibly crap Stealth discs I had once. More worrying is that they look to be plated with something, hence the rust at the edges.

That's just it they are not... They are 400 Galfer disks... Installed on the bike for a total of two weeks...
