I take it that the over complicated MCN diagram, isn't mentioning that this is ONLY for live coverage?

If so, personally it wont effect me. I can;t stand the BBC commentary and half arsed effort to air it if Snooker or Tennis doesn't get in the way. I wait an hour and watch it on Europsort via Virgin Media.

Will the BBC still be able to air it an hour later too?

This is no different to Formula One isn't it?

Stream it through any number of web sites that have nothing to BT, Sky or anything else

As I get the BT TV deal for nowt, I'll be watching it live in glorious HD through the Sky box.

Or maybe via the BT TV app on the iPad or PC.

Incidentally, there's a few of us trying to persuade the powers that be to sign Julian, Toby, and Spalders if Eurosport stop their coverage.

If not, then ABC (Anyone But Cox).

My understanding is that BT will have sole rights so unless Eurosport can negotiate a similar deal to what they had with the BBC, then the only legitimate place will be via a BT deal.

British Eurosport has released the following statement in response to the announcement that BT Sport has won exclusive rights to live UKMotoGP TV coverage from 2014.

After being dumped by Dorna in 2008, a winter U-turn saw British Eurosport allowed to 'compliment' the live BBC coverage from 2009, albeit with delayed broadcast of the MotoGP races.

From the wording of the statement, there is no suggestion that Eurosport will seek a similar deal with BT.

Indeed, as 'subscription' channels, both would be fighting over the same audience - especially since BT Sport will offer the kind of extensive live coverage that currently differentiates Eurosport from the free-to-view BBC.

"British Eurosport is disappointed that MotoGP series rights holder Dorna has decided to change its strategy from 2014 onwards in the UK," said the statement.

"We are proud to have covered MotoGP for many years and thank our respected commentary team of Toby Moody, Julian Ryder, Neil Spalding and Steve Day along with the team behind the scenes for making that coverage so popular with bike fans.

"At British Eurosport we are passionate supporters of motorcycle racing and it continues to be a cornerstone of the channel's output. In 2013, we added the Speedway European Championships and FIM Speedway Grand Prix to our offer of the MCE British Superbikes and World Superbike Championship. We will show every round of these four series live, in full and in HD until at least 2015 and we hold the exclusive live rights to those series in the UK."
[Edit] It seems they have decided not to look at getting a similar deal with BT

If it's not free on the internet, it looks like I won't be watching it, as I'm not willing to pay any extra.

Ditto. I thought the BBC coverage was OK, especially at the price. If it's not on BBC or being streamed free I'll just wait until it gets on youtube or torrents. I can live with waiting a few days, as I currently do with BSB and WSB.

Though of course that does rely on the people creating the torrents having access to the BT package.

I'll pay 12 a month to add BT sports to sky, 3 a week to watch one of my favourite sports is fine by me, I also get UFC thrown in which I haven't watched since it went to a pay channel

Goodbye MotoGP. Loose most of your viewers to pay TV seems a pretty silly way of running an advertising circus, but what do I know?

If it's not on Eurosport I'll not see it,but I suspect it will be.

I never watch the races live anyway, though I will miss the practice and qualifying days.

    A pity,but I'm not paying to view.
