Question Share your best curry recipes

Thai, Indian, Indonesian, Chinese, English, whatever. Be interesting to see given there is such a large variety of types of curry.

Easy, dials the Rajasthan, orders and waits for the good man to bring it round...

As an aside Amazon (Kindle) are selling Rick Stein's 'India' cook book at the mo' for 49pence. They're also doing a Rachel Allen and a Gok Wan for the same money, and an Andy Bates 'Street Feasts' for £1.50

Garlic, crushed coriander seed, lashings of cumin. Black pepper if need be, or even cayenne. Flash fried before meat is added. Ginger / lemongrass if you want to go a bit more aromatic...

That's the basis of it all.

Usually, some onions. Very often some meat, sometimes chicken, sometimes beef. Goat is nice, when you can find it.

I personally adore lamb, but the other half is less keen. Occasionally, fish, or prawns.

Mushrooms, tomato or chickpeas don't kill it, exactly, but they aren't really necessary. Or, in my view, desirable. I love ladies fingers though. It's one of the few parts of them that I adore.

Sometimes we serve it all mixed up with boiled or fried rice. And with fresh coriander on top.

Not even close. Every good Indian curry needs masala spices

Is that a rhetorical question?, his dad ran a restaurant so maybe Gok know's almost as much about cooking as you do

My old man made a living as a painter and decorator.

I get a man in to do the decorating. Cooking and hanging wallpaper ain't genetic.

Anyway, I imagine Gok Wan gets a man in on the slightest pretext...

Why don't you download the book, review it and if there's no recipes in there you think worth the 49p price of the book next time I see you I'll hand over 98p to you, so it's an opportunity for you to either get a cheap cook book you may use or double your money whilst watching hell freezing over
