That doesn't look too bad, but you've two positions to think about - hands on the brake hoods, and hands on the drops. You might need to change the angle AND move the levers.

Might be something in here Road Rage - Matt Magee: Bike Mistakes - Part 1: Handlebar

Thanks... I'm lucky that my levers are on the downtube then lol. Although i must admit, having to drop my hands down to brake feels VERY fucking weird....

You should be able to squeeze the levers from the hoods, so no need to drop hands

You'll get much better leverage and therefore braking performance from the drop position though. It's also a much better position for pedalling efficiency, although it feels weird at first

    True

True, but with decent brakes and pads the difference isn't as big you'd think.

What, riding on the drops? The most efficient riding position is the one you use most, normally riding on the hoods. If you don't believe me get hold of a heart rate monitor and see what happens when you ride in a different position from normal.

You're much more of an expert than me so I'll bow to your superior knowledge

It feels better for me - times are better too - hence my comment. But I probably just have my bike set up to ride on the drops

I have a HRM but can't be arsed using it for the commute. Perhaps I should

Well irritatingly i couldn't give you any answers from last night. Mostly as it seems my rim has a sharp edge where the Schrader valve is, thus cutting a hole in my only tube when inflating last night !!!! GRRRRRRR.

However... i'm still not convinced this Roadie stuff is for me after sitting on it more..

It's not this particular bike as such, but you know, like sports bike to Supermoto.... and i'm not sure i fancy the sportsbike.

Awwwww fucking hell. Blokey has recieved the item and it's 'fooked'... rear mech bent and bolloxed and a big scratch on the frame... I've had to give him a refund and will raise a claim with parcelmonkey.

I had to make a claim through Parcel Monkey once.
The actual postage company denied it because it was reported to them more than 48 hours after receipt of the item (I only heard from the guy a week after he got it - he'd been out of the country).

Anyway, Parcel Monkey paid me themselves.

It's cool. As long as you packaged it OK, paid for insurance, send them pics etc they'll pay out.
Not like it's a piece of electronics - it's mechanical, so any damage and its cause (impact) are very obvious. Plus you have pics of it all working from a day or two before.

It's all very well and good being compensated for the damage but will they compensate you for the reduced value now? Them smashing the crap out of it has restricted your ability to sell it on again
