Bike Maps, Cycling Workout, Biking Routes | MapMyRIDE

I've just found it this week, I don't find it the most intuative web site to use but it looks like it's pretty good for keeping track of your workouts. you can upload a route direct from a GPS and it shows all the data from that workout.

If you commute the same route regularly you can register a workout using a previously saved route and it'll give you weekly/monthly totals of milage etc

does anyone use this website already?

I have used it, and it is OK as far as it goes, I find it great for planning but prefer Endomondo for real time logging and uploading to the net. I managed to get the pro App around Christmas for 10p so that was a nice saving.

My garmin has a system that's reasonable.. but not much more than that for viewing.. the data itself is superb... but it's a pain at times when you vary routes slightly as it obviously affects distances so you end up not being able to find certain rides lol.

    Try runkeeper:
Running Activity 4.96 mi | RunKeeper

You can log with a garmin GPS direct, .gpx .tcx files by uploading them, add manual distances or plot maps manually.
You can log running, cycling, swimming, rowing, just about anything really, as well has HR monitor info.

You can add routes simply by clicking on the map.

Its very simple to use and you can share it on twitter or facebook automatically or with one button...

Runkeeper is basically the same as mapmyride but MUCH easier to use, it's just taken me about 90seconds to create an account and upload 2 rides which took me a couple of hours to figure out on MMR.

I've deleted my account on MMR and am giving runkeeper a go

I use Map My Ride, I've found it fine for what I do, but might give runkeeper a go

I don't do real time logging of routes though, just enter them and log workouts so I can keep track on a weekly/monthly basis. My piece of kit (a phone) that does GPS logging isn't really good enough to hold on to a signal all the time, so you get half routes logged which is worse than none at all, and I don't care enough about logging stuff to get a proper piece of kit for the job

when I started cycling again last year it was cheaper for me to buy a handlebar mount for my old garmin (about a tenner) than it was to buy a cycle computer, with the added bonus that the garmin can do loads more. so loggin my rides has sort of happened by accident, I may as well make good use of the data

With runkeeper you can edit the map of your route simply by clicking and dragging on it, so if your phone had a spaz mid run you can move it about to make it more accurate.
I can highly recommend a forerunner 110 tho, especially if you start racing with the running club as you can see at a glance what pace you are running at and its a whole lot easier than lugging a phone around.
It will do real time logging if you have a phone/GPS capable of it, but you have to pay for that functionality.

Another thing about runkeeper (which may or may not be considered as a good thing) is that you can link it to a FB account, and it then makes any FB friends who also use it "streetmates" so you can see how each other are doing and give encouragement, or even have races remotely.

I may be missing something with my 110 but the speed shown isn't actually your current speed, but your average speed over that particular mile. I'd guess when on running it's pretty accurate as your speed won't fluctuate that much over a given couple of hundred metres, however on a MTB, you do get wildly inaccurate speeds showing if for example you first 1/2 mile is uphill and your second half is all downhill.

However, i do really love my Forerunner 110 apart from this particular quirk.

Set your splits for shorter distances then mate. I forget what the shortest distance is, but it makes your current split average much more accurate.
