Default Bought a single speed, am I mad?

Things are going great with my Corratec trekking bike, lovely riding thing, great for taking the long way home and doing the shopping etc, but I think that for the days I only go to work and back, it's a bit overkill and I don't like the idea of banging it up kerbs and stuff, so I've ordered one of these....

    VEE-1

I like the big BMX idea, something that I can go a bit hooligan on without worrying about wrecking the rims etc.

Should be here on tuesday, so I'm looking forward to it.

I like that. A lot. You are not mad; this is just the second instalment of your burgeoning bike collection. There'll be more

    Enjoy.

Nice bike, not fixie I assume as it has brakes on............. SS is the best tool for that job and indeed any other Then, I'm biased, it's all I ever ride these days, on or off road. Is it a 29er, can't be arsed to check again?

    1. Try to ride up it in a manly fashion.

    2. Collapse in a heap half way up.

    3. Sheepishy push up the rest of the way.

There was a 29'er version, bit dearer though. I've been thinking about a fixie, I have a nice 1980 Reynolds framed Townsend frame hanging up in the garage just crying out to be made into a nice retro fixie. Maybe later on when I shed a few lbs.

That's what I did- turned an old bike that was gathering dust into a fixie. I love it; although it's a very different style of riding and not suited to all terrains!
