Recommend me some pliers

I need some long nose pliers that are reasonable quality but won't break the bank. Any ideas?...

Wiha tools seem well made and reasonably priced.

Sadly, I'll be shopping on the internet and tool quality can vary quite widely. What looks good in a picture can be shoddy rubbish when it turns up.

I've got Facom ones that are 25 years old and still going stong, and they've had a fair bit of use over the years. Not dirt cheap tho.

Yes it can especially if you're buying on price. Seriously what's cheap for one person is a bargain for another. Similarly it depends exactly what you're hoping it will feel like etc. Best bet is to shop for it and Halfords, Machine Mart, Screwfix is a good place to start. Online you have to go for Name brands and no matter what anyone says about them, Snap-On rarely sell shoddy goods.

I inheirited a set of Halfords stuff in an abandoned tool kit and they do the job. Think the only time I've gone out of my way to buy pliers, I ended up with stuff from RS Components. Good stuff, mid price.

    Screwd.

Back in the day when I used long-nosed pliers every day, Lindstrom Lindstrom Precision Tools were reckoned to be damn good. No idea if that is still true today.

Not sure about price but NWS, Knipex, VBW and Wiha all make decent stuff.

I seem to have quite a few good pairs of Elliot Lucas pliers from my local secondhand place, several pairs from military stock that are quite old and still in decent nick. No idea about their new stuff cos I think the most recent is from the 1960s.
