Am sure you can raise what you like but as I said earlier, they are going to pick their battles.

And bollocks, there's no way someone who spends as much time ensuring your bike is asthetically pleasing, helmet matches bike etc wouldn't be fussed about being told they had to wear one of these lovelies!

Well- clearly you'd need a nice thick jacket on over that- can't be going riding bikes in a t-shirt- that's not safe!?! I reckon it'd look quite dapper with a jacket on over it

    You're right, i wouldn't wear that...

however... you can bet this would pass.

    or

Once the law was implemented, then companies would get on the case and make the same thing in leather jackets/suits.

    Like this for example

Once again.... people ask questions and get fuck all of an answer.

Ask yourself why people think MAG is a fucking waste of time.... you have your answers in this thread

    "i don't know"
    "i can't answer"
    "go to a meeting"

If you are a representitive then SURELY you should be able to answer any questions in here ?

What would happen if i went to the meeting with the same issues people have raised... how would you suddenly then have answers ?

    Fucking load of wanky bollox.

Don't Hi-viz colouring have to have a certain level of reflectiveness? AFAIK a yellow coat is not Hi-viz.

Anyway, who wants to look like a bloody traffic cone?

Very possibly... however manufacturers are not daft.... you think if they suddenly need to make 20,000 of these then they won't take advantage of that ?

Of course they will, but it won't stop you looking pretty daft. Lets face it, in the modern urban environment, Hi-Viz is almost a camouflage.

    several things..
    1. lack of interest in what MAG seem to do
    2. the fact that people in here from MAG seem to have little concept of what they do
    3. lack of knowledge of how to do it

I was a member for one year bloody decades ago. Realised they were mostly a bunch of ineffectual wankers who did fuck all for bikers in general. My opinion hasn't changed.

Look, I know to an extent Weeksy was playing devil's advocate with you here but nevertheless he has illustrated perfectly why so many posters on here don't give a fuck about MAG. You're unable to tell us why we should join in a way which is attractive to the average motorcyclist, the only answer you can give is 'join and find out about us'. Imagine going into a bike dealership , looking at one of the latest models with a wad of money in your hand and saying to the salesman "why should I buy that bike", and he replies "well mate, part with your cash and you'll be able to answer that question for yourself". Then he fucks off and gets on with what he was doing before you stuck your head in the door. Basically, you are that salesman.

All I hear MAG saying is "Loads of stuff is going to happen to biking unless we stop it, you need to join us to protect yourself". Unless you can convince me that you're telling the truth (which you seem to be fundamentally unable to do as an organisation from individuals to your website) then you have no chance of getting my money. Do you think I give money to every set of idiots who stop me in the street / knock on my door / send me daft emails telling me that shit is going to happen unless I part with some cash? Why are you different to all the other nutters? If you can't convince me you're not talking bollocks then, as with the others, your blather will just go in one ear and out the other.

    That is MAG's problem. Period.

You're flogging a dead horse here.
Most people riding bikes now don't go back far enough to remember the bad old days when 100bhp limits were being imposed.
(The French went belly up on that one, but we told them where to shove it, and won).
A lot of people riding their mega powered hyper bikes now, have absolutely no idea of the fight that went on back in the early
90's that secured the freedom they now enjoy.
The irony is that these same people point, laugh and mock the very pressure groups that struggled and fought relentlessly to secure the freedom to ride the bikes they are now able to enjoy unhindered.
I hate to say this, but I think a good old fashioned piece of restrictive legislation is probably what we need, to remind us of how vulnerable we really are.
And when that happens what do we do.
Come on to a public forum and whinge about it ?
    Write to our MP's ?
The fact is that like them or not, the BMF and Mag are all we have.
For the price of a tank of fuel you could help ensure our freedoms, but I doubt most here would bother.
They'll moan and whinge on public forums and down the pub about how hard done by we are, when they themselves have not lifted a finger to help in the fight.
Apathy is the greatest weapon against freedom.
