    Default pillion related adventures

Inspired by the test rides thread, what pillion related adventures have you had? Heres my two, one recent, one ages ago, one as a pillion the other taking one, so what you got?

When I was 17 I jumped on the back of a mates gs850 streetfighter and when he decided to give it some over a small bridge and jumped a bit I went up in the air but the bike was gone when I came back down, resulting in a somewhat brusied posterior!

when I was on the 9r, I popped round to see a mate who has an XT, his lad asked if I would take him for a blast as he had not been on a 'proper sportsbike' (he is 16 and used to going on the back with his old man / can ride a bike himself)
My mate said 'go easy on him' as he got on but gave me 'the look'

well I took him out for all of 10 mins for a and when we got back he got off the bike and fell over as his legs went to jelly to which his Dad laughed so much he stepped back and fell over his garden wall

Back in my 125 days i got taken out on the back of an XS1100. The git gave it welly and my legs went up almost to his arm pits as my body fell back. I could not get back upright until he slowed down.

Me riding a kmx200 with a bob farnham motor giving a mate a lift decide to pull a wheelie he decides to wave at 2 girls by side of the road........

His waving is enough to unbalance the bloody thing and we come sooo close to hitting the curb i still don't know how we got away with it.

2nd is following dad from worthing to portsmouth to drop off his zzr600 he had sold to a guy and offered to drop off, i was 21 and had a 4 year old zx7r that he had bought/lent me the money for (he still mentions it occasionally) i offered to follow him and give him a ride home.. i offered 2 choices the m27/a27 or the a272 he didn't realise i loved this road and knew it well... By storrington he was bear hugging me so hard i had to slow down he offered to buy me a pint and lunch and smoked his first cigarette in 15 years he weirdly never went pillion again with anyone.

A few years ago I was badgered by a pretty girl into taking a guy I didn't like for his first ever ride, as he was thinking about having some lessons. As we were climbing aboard this cocky twat informed me that he wasn't scared of anything and had done some car rallying in the past, so I shouldn't hold back.

15 minutes later we were stood at the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, and he was trying to light a cigarette unsuccessfully, as he couldn't get the end of the fag to the same place as the fire as his hands were shaking so much. He then informed me that he had an appointment to meet some undefined person at some point soon in the nearest pub in the next village a mile or so away, and started walking. I never saw him again.

When I first got the zx I would take the then gf on the back, out into the lake district at night, retrospectively doing speeds I wouldn't do now, thinking 'this is awesome'.. it wasn't until a few weeks later we swapped places and I sat on the back to realise what a scary and non-pillion friendly bike the zx is!! A flat plastic seat that doesn't grip your ass and hold it in position - you slide forward and backward and the slightest acceleration/deceleration, there's a rubbish little 'band' of leather strap to cling to, and your in a much more precarious position being constantly blasted by the wind with your head in the clouds in comparison to the rider.. i don't take pillions now!

A couple of years ago, I used to regularly take a young lady out as a pillion, we'd travel for miles without incident or accident, she was as light as a feather, got used to my riding style and we generally had a thoroughly good time, she even got to the point when I had to check she was there as I could barely notice her.

This pretty much stopped after a trip up to Edinburgh one summer's day to meet a couple of TRCers who will remain nameless...

We blatted up to the Borders along some cracking roads at a fair pace (even for me) picked up our fellow travellers before coming back via St Mary's Loch, various other places of interest along some scorchingly good brand new tarmaced roads in brilliant sunshine, so good that we stopped for ice creams!

30 miles from home, I hesitate at a junction and get arse-ended by a blade... plastic everywhere and a pillion who just took it in her stride, the other TRCer on a orange Kwak was less than pleased at her partner's efforts .

It was a sad end to a cracking day, both bikes were easily repaired but sadly from my point of view, the un-named TRCer got closer to getting up the arse of that pillion pal than I ever did

I always used to go on pillion with Rainmaker (formerly of these parts), the day I ended up sat in front of him after some vigorous braking was the day I went down the path of learning to ride.

At age 17 a mate asked for a lift home from school on the back of my GP100. (with resized sprockets to accelerate quicker but less top end).
As there was a big gang of kids watching I thought I'd speed off to impress everyone but I didn't account for the fact that my mate was quite heavy. As I gave the bike some beans the bike pulled straight into a wheelie! Whilst I was thinking oh S**t what do I do and panicing about crashing in front of half the school we somehow wheelied straight out of the school gates and down the road. I got it back under control and took my mate home. Afterwards he though the whole thing was 'just a laugh' and everyone at school though I was some sort of wheelie king.
I didn't dare tell them it was all a complete accident, I thought I was going to crash and I don't know how I kept it on the road!

I've been riding two-up my whole post-125 riding career, which is now over 10 years.

Got pulled over on my 400 with my first GF on the back, and asked why I'd leant over so far to make sparks on that corner. Eventually we settled on inexperience and I carried on a bit slower.

Best mate on the back, I dashed from lane 3 to the exit cutting folk up at 100+ (not bad going on a 400) because of a blue light behind us. It was an ambulance.

Rode with another mate on the back of the same 400, I was about 11 stone at the time, he's more like 20. He rides too and that got a bit interesting at times.

Picked up this girl I'd met in Germany on my 400, she had all her own gear and came outside wearing it. Didn't realise what she had on under til we got to our first stop for an ice cream and she undid the zipper.

130+ on an older fireblade with a special-friend on the back and a stone pinged up and exploded a water junction on the front of the engine. Embarrassing.

Only ever gave a big bike with my fiancée "the beans" once, on my 955i. Stuck it in second and opened her up, I'm not so much allowed to do that any more.

About 12 years ago, the brother of a now ex, picked me up from work as I wasnt feeling well. We all lived in the same house, so he brought my lid and gloves down to work. So he turns up on his blade, and goes the long way home around town. Does 2 laps of his favourite roundabout in town trying to get his knee down Thankfully he didnt cos I had trainers/jeans on. So then he comes out of that roundabout and decides to open the throttle while filtering (he must have been doing at least 70 in a 30). I had been holding on to his waist. He sped up very quickly and the force of it made one of my arms come away from his waist, while at the same timewe went over a bump, my arse was off the seat and my feet off the pegs. Only thing connecting me to anything was one of my arms. I was not impressed.

His brother, who was a courier in London, often took me on the back of the bike for jaunts into and around London. He always forgot I was on the bike, so he'd end up filtering at 100mph as if he was on his own

Many years ago in Thailand with my brother, we'd hired a scooter to razz around the island (Koh Samui) on. We'd stopped for a drink and as we were leaving, it was my brothers turn to ride, I was pillion. Setting off he gave it a bit of a handful but the back wheel just spun up. I looked down and saw the back wheel was stuck on a half exposed drain pipe, so I started to get off the scooter just as he decided to give it the beans! The scooter launched itself forward and I got launched backwards, landing flat on my back by the side of the road, in front of about a dozen old Thai fellas who were pissing themselves laughing!

A girl that I used to go out with used to find it very funny to give hand jobs on the move, try keep your mind on riding while that was going on is very hard. Same girl also liked sex on the bike, stopping in a forest once for a session, the side stand decides to sink in the soft ground and we both end up under it.

My Mum admitted she used to love my CX500 for it's vibration qualities in fact most girls used to love the CX.

The Zx12 has always bought much fun in the pillion department, one young lad always came over with the mouth about how he could out ride anyone and would show me a thing or two, so one day I handed him a lid and told him to get on the back, I always keep to a very strict limit with pillions on 120 max, a mile down the motorway I turned and asked if he was OK "is that it he said" do you want to go faster "yes" 2 more miles I pull off the motorway and stop at the roundabout, he jumps off and says hes not getting back on, he had turn white and was shacking from head to toe, all I did was open the 12 up I hadn't even overtaken a single car. Just found the limit he could hold onto my pillion belt handles on acceleration.

Some years back I toured North West Scotland with my teenage daughter on a BMWK75RT. Once in a while I would nudge her in the ribs to make sure she was awake. She was very slim so it was hard to see her through the mirrors.

Heading towards Cape Wrath a farmer overtook me with blaring horn pointing to the bike. I looked over my shoulder and could see that it wasn't the bike rather it was my daughter who had removed her helmet and was happily munching away on a packet of crisps.

The same daughter who shot off the back of my Ducati while doing a very impressive one wheel start at a set of lights.

Odd? She doesn't seem to like bikes nowadays!
