So.after 25 years plus of riding bikes....of them taking up most waking moments of my days when my focus has always been when/where how soon can I get on my bike...
I find myself totally disinterested in them....

to the point where my GS hasn't moved since November last year..
a Lot of this is financial...building trade etc...money is not good atm and previously I had lots of disposable income to spend on trips etc, where as now I can not justify the cost of just me having a day out....

but TBH this is only part of it, I have no interest any more in bikes at all......and I don't know where to go with it....

I'm loathe to sell everything in case it's a temporary aberration.....on the other hand I don't want the kind of money the GS cost sitting doing nothing......and I am seriously tempted to get rid and spend elsewhere.....

Why am I posting this.. ? god knows.......I don't really expect advice, more a case ( I suspect) of crystalizing my thoughts in text instead of pondering.....I honestly have no idea of where I am going or what I am doing.....(with regards to bikes anyway)
I have developed another interest in Sea kayaks......but I'm not sure where (if anywhere) this will lead....

I'm fairly certain it is.
And for pretty much the same reasons I've only been out twice this year so far...

Given a bit of money to spare and someone to have a laugh with tho you will be right back on it.
Maybe not the same "it" but on it none the less...
Flog it mate if the cash will help. You can get another when things pick up.

I fancy a Nordkapp myself but not instead of a bike FFS :-)

Anyway if the GS is sat idle sell it, you can always buy another bike, go do something else you fancy and come back to bikes if you want to.

I take your point..but the problem isn't "someone to have a laugh with" as you know.. that quite seriously hasn't ever been an issue at all.....quite the opposite in fact.....
