    Default Continental Tyres

When to Snetty on a track day Sunday, needed new tyres. Bloke had loads of Bridgestones but not that many other makes, I don't like Pirellis, never tried bridgestones.
I asked if he had any Dunlops, my fav's, he didn't, Metzler Racetechs is another I like. Yes no problem he has a set. So come back in 30 mins as he was setting up. When I go back he's sold the racetechs??WTF? Anyway he tels me he has these Continentals that are new for this year and designed by the same team that did the racetechs, and they are really good. So I swallowed it and got them.
First session on track and after a warm up I give it the beans (well as much as I do) they stuck like shit to a blanket!! Come back in both tyres are nicely bubbled right up to the edges as they should be, Gix will vouch for speed and how far over I was out on track as he was watching (he was in the inters I was in novice).
Anyway very good, but what got me was it pissed down in the afternoon and I was riding home, we waited for the rain to ease and I set of. Then the monsoon set in, I've had Racetechs and Dunlops, not to mention other race orientated rubber be a bit slippy in the wet esp crossing white lines overtaking, little back end wiggle. There was loads of standing water and at some points rivers of flowing water across the road, but the tyres never flinched once!!

I think I've just added a third to my preferred list, who'd of thought it Continentals!!!

They did appear to be excellent and their grip on all sorts of surfaces was most impressive, especially on grass, eh Andy

When/if they do turn up, stick 'em on Ebay and give the money to charity.
