    Plastic!

Aftermarket ones are often made of abs plastic or similar, same as the seat unit . fairings.

If making one, either ally or stainless steel - mild steel will turn to shit quick as fuck.

PS - stainless steel is surprisingly difficult to cut and shape perfect.

I knocked one up out of mdf once the day before a trackday. Sprayed it black and nobody noticed, well not until it started to rain and it swelled up.

Not bothered what it's made of so long as its strong enough as hold a barn door and indicators. Can't fabricate ally at work as readily, steel's our main stock. It's to hold a plate and road lights on a race tailpiece, so prob need to fab something up.

you could do it in steel and have it powdercoated?

2mm steel should be plenty man enough, its just fixing it under the race seat unit.

    Pics if you make one

I'll give it a bash with cardboard and then see what size of sheet I can find in the guillotine cuts bin. Satin black rattle can finish sounds good.
