    Default New Helmet...

As the title says its time for a new helmet.

Had mostly shoei and Arai. Have also got a KTM Uvex whistling kettle hat so I dont want another one of them thanks.

Shoei & Arai seem to fit me well.

    Sub £400, quiet and comfy.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks.

I went with that as for some riding I need 2 visors, which means carrying the 2nd which I don't like. The drop down one works quite well.

Try the Schuberth C3 had mine a fortnight and its like having a rolls royce on yer bonnet. Fairly quiet up to 60mph good ventilation flip up has a sun visor quick realease strap [two fingers] and £300 from Helmet city if you like anthracite grey.

I've had an awful lot of lids and the Arai Quantum is my no.1 favourite. If it fits ok, I'd go for one of those.

Trouble with helmets is its a bit like trying a new wife, you really need to have a go first otherwise you might find all sorts of performance issues but the packaging looked good.

    +1

Love mine quiet, clean looking great vents and built in sun visor.
Also worth looking through bikerland.de. Amazing service and hard to beat on price.

I have a Schuberth C3 which I've had for some 60,000 miles and it is still as comfy as it was on day one. Replacement visors are expensive though. I use Renovo to polish out ant scratches, and this visor is on it's 3rd winter now.

If you don't fancy a flip front I can highly recommend the HJC helmets-I switched to them from Arai as I got fed up (forgetting to) carry a spare clear visor around with me and the one I bought had an integral sunvisor. It fits my head like an arai does, although on my last one the lining wasn't quite up to Arai quality but then I change helmets every 2 to 3 years.

I now own this HJC HJC FS-11 Emblem White - Lids Direct (as well as a C3) and it's so nice. The integral visor mechanism is good, lining much nicer than my last HJC and now close to Arai quality (but not price), air adjustable cheek pads, great vents and it's quieter than my last Arai RX7. fantastic sale price AND it matches my Guzzi colours.

I did have a Scuberth C2 a while ago, which was brilliant for 20 minutes, then became very uncomfortable around the jaw. Didn't feel like that when I tried it on in the shop!
