Default Ignition on, how much power?

How much power would turning a bike on use? Not starting it, just turning it on, with the headlight fuse out, so only the dash and ecu are powered up. Probably turned my ignition on maybe 20 times this weekend and the battery is already flat.

Does it also prime the fuel pump, twiddle any air box and exhaust valves, do its self diagnostics, power the tail and pilot lights and anything else it can think of? Shouldn't be much in theory but that lot could add up, if you've left it on with even a 5w drain for any length of time. 5w @ 12v is about .4 amp, battery is probably 9Ah so would hold one 5w bulb for say 10h til 50% left, which is well under what is needed to start a big motor like a 1000 v twin.

never, ever remap or blow anything if there's power instability.

Not related, but a girl-racer in my office remapped her Vauxhall Astra to a higher power setting. It soon after ate its gearbox, so she's had (to have) one off the VXR fitted now.

Nice to see girl-racers are just as full of shit as boy-racers. Equality and all that

You lose points for repeating it though.

Depending on the ignition setup you could well be pulling 5 amps or more. If the coils are getting warm then you are pulling plenty of juice.
