    This recipe was posted by Karma mechanic on this thread, it is excellent so I decided to post it to the blog so I and others can access it as need be.

    Blimey, thats sounds frighning!!!

    McSatan posted his recipe for a masala to make curry house style curries, looks good, hope he doesnt mind me posting it here.

    If you fancy making an Indian restaurant style curry, try this. Now I rarely measure anything precisely, so you just have to use your own judgement.

    A big bag of onions, peeled and roughly chopped.
    Boil them in some water until they're soft.
    Pour off most of the water (keep some)

    The following are some miscellaneous curry recipes. The quantities are vague since I just tend to cook as I go along, so to call them recipes is not quite right, they are more a guide to cooking!

    Pulao Rice

    The cup size for this recipe does not matter as long as you use the same cup size for all the ingredients.

    • 1 tsp cumin seeds
    • 2 bay leaves

    Most Indians will make up what is best described in english as a base chilli paste known as a sambal. This is basically chillies, ginger and garlic with a little oil and vinegar. Place the ginger in a food processor and process till it is smooth. Add the chillies and whole garlic and process so that the chillies and garlic are about very small pieces i.e. the size of the chilli seeds.     The following guide is something I have put together to help provide a starting point for people wanting to cook curries at home. I don’t cook to exact measurements and generally curries are not overly affected if you vary what goes in. For example you may use 2 large onions instead of 3 medium onions or add more or less chilli, its all to taste really.
