I once took my Air Cooled RD250 to a trackday at Cadwell (along with my Fireblade), I was a little scared I'd get raped, so I went out dead last in the inters.... and overtook 5 bikes

I think I might join hottrax and register with the DSC DD, if only to get my clubman license back... then see if I find a suitable bike. I'm still tempted by the Thundersport 500's. They've even tighter (cheaper) rules than the DD's.

Well that's DSC membership, Desmo Due Membership and Hottrax Club membership paid for... <gulp>.

All I need now is a towbar, a trailer, a racebike and some leathers without a hole in the arse.

Apparently half the bikes on the grid are orange, which is why the previous owner painted it green.

It can stay green for me, it'll cost money to change colour!

PM me with your details I am racing in the DesmoDue series too with one of my close friends... we aren't looking to pull up any trees just to enjoy some good fun and competitive racing... will be at most rounds

Over 30 riders entered between Class A and B and the series looks healthy.... control tyres for this year are the Sportsmart 2s but you can run the older Qualifiers for the first 2 rounds...

Facebook page is lively and helpful compared to the actual DSC Forum which is rather quiet....

Just heading out to New Zealand to race (Ducati Monster 696 conversion) and tour (Triumph Tiger 1050 Sport) but will be keeping up with events back here! Hoping to capture some good video from the BEARS Race Meeting as they have a few Britten V Twins running to commemorate 20 years since JB died...

Ahh DD, back in the day 2006 when I raced 8k bikes were common so a bike for 3k now is a bargain, I enjoyed it and back then it was very competitive all the way down the field. Not sure about now but the front guys still seem pretty quick. But you should get a good race anywhere in the field, no tyre warmers and wets sounds great and levels the field till it's a bitterly cold wet day and you're heading out on cold road tyres in the rain and expected to go as fast as you can, it's a personal thing but for me the extra to have a genny and a set of spare wheels is nothing compared to what the bike and a seasons racing costs.
I've also raced with hottrax and they seem a decent bunch and I assume their are still some old DSC folk around who are the same so you should have a laugh, I expect a top 3 trophy too by the end of the season

All my best race results were on cold wet days on dry race tryes

Good on ya KFB, let us know what rounds you are doing and we'll come along and cheer you on. A new years resolution was to get to more club racing this year.

I stood you up to get an MOT on the only bike I have capable of being road legal

I'm not doing Brands, first meeting for me is Cadwell.

Tow bar all fitted, suitable tent/hospitality unit purchased this weekend, just need to go dig the bike trailer out of the In-laws barn and make sure it's not seized up.

Knockhill? When did DD start going there?

I thought the home counties club that ran it didn't go much further than Oulton and opted to go to Assen rather than further north.
