I'm seeing it as more a return after 10 years. My user name almost makes as much sense as when I had an actual tard and created it. Last one was black too but staying away from the bling/tat this time.

Not even ridden a 690 so hope I bloody like it got high hopes though my Duke II and smc were my favourite bikes as I have a big soft spot for singles.SMC.jpeg

Dunno yet in my excitement I forgot about the need for forms, taking my R6 in etc. Think I'm gonna try and do the paperwork Sat so I guess prob a week later to collect. In no rush though as roads still covered in salt. Hopefully cleared in a week or so.

Looking forward to riding the 690. I had extreme low expectations of the XT coming from sports bikes after 13 years. However, I can't believe how good it is and how capable. The write ups and power and weight figures are crap but sensation is great. The 690 is going to feel a lot better.

I may have to beat my brother up and steal it on a permanent basis.

Back road scratching this year is going to be brilliant.

Took the R6 (well my brother did, couldnt get my knee on the peg still) in and all done and dusted. Got offered a ride on their test 690 but wasn't fussed as I know I'll love it. Sat on one to make Brum Brum noises and HOLY MOLY it's light should get it next week shop are gonna deliver it. Roll on spring.

KTM Centre delivered the bike 7.30 Fri night, great service from Jason as always. Filled in the paperwork and paid last bit of deposit and it's mine Having no lights in the garage I just wheeled her in and locked it that night. Had kids Sat morning so hadn't even looked at it till Sat arvo when my folks popped over to see the kids (Dad wanted to see the bike ) pulled her out and gave it a check over and sat on it etc but as I can't see me riding it for a few weeks I disconnected the battery for now. So not even heard it running (stop sniggering Clanktank ). Kids had a sit on Daddy's new motorbike where I was told they were the fastest not Daddy so that's me told. Had a read of the manual with a cup of tea and all seems straightforward, found the mode switch under the seat set to 3 which is soft I think. Will leave that on for running in period.

So nothing exciting to report but will post up a first ride report as soon as it stops blowing a gale, raining floods and the salt disappears. Love the odo reading when you get a new bike

Tail is a bit pony but short term will keep shit off my back. Sure there were no stickers on the wheels in the shop not sure I'll keep em we'll see. Still like the engine bars and looks like they should do a decent job in a spill
