Provisional dates for next year are up, excited? fuck yes
25/26 March Anglesey Test day/Coastal
22 April Oulton Park
24/25 June Anglesey Coastal/Coastal
29/30 July Anglesey Coastal/GP
7/8 October Anglesey GP/GP
Funds allowing there'll be an entry going in for every round, along with a smattering of track days and the odd endurance round or two.
The bike is currently in bits. It performed faultlessly all year, even when I converted over to raceshift and did my very best to wreck the gearbox by shifting from 2nd to 1st at max revs.........two laps in a row
So, preventative maintenance. Valve clearance check, these were checked and adjusted last winter but it's a straight forward job and will get checked again. Clutch fibres/plates inspected/measured and replaced if necessary, not had any problems with the clutch but it makes sense to check now rather than suffer problems during a race meet. Sump off, clean out the oil strainer and whilst I'm in there have a good look at the dogs, forks and shift drum. Front brake calipers have had a strip down, fresh seals and rebuilt ready for next season too.
Now it's time for upgrades.
Suspension. Currently running standard resprung forks and standard resprung shock. Managed to pick up a set of forks with 9.5kg springs, Ktech flow control valves and a Ktech 20SSK valve kit, these have been stripped, cleaned and rebuilt with fresh seals and fluid. Also picked up a WP rear shock cheap, needed a rebuild, spring and bottom collar, off it went to MCT suspension for them to work their magic.
Quick shifter. I want one, so I bought one, managed to pick up a near new Healtech so that'll be getting fitted when I check the valve clearances.
Roll on March
Still haven't managed to get over tot Anglesey, will deffo try to next year.
Great to see you're still as enthusiastic, keep us updated.
Oh, and once the TRC Pembrey date is set, book!
Too much to do and not enough time for it all at the moment.
really pleased with progress through the year and had a fantastic time. Managed to get down to consistent low 1:39 at Anglesey with a couple of high 1:38, so knocked off nearly 10 seconds by the end of the season
I need to work on my positioning I think so might look at tuition if I can stretch to it, other wise I'll just crack on and see if I can figure it out. I've run out of ground clearance and I'm grinding the footpegs and crash bobbins away, I've been very close to sliding off a couple of times and you can feel the suspension unload when everything decks out.
August is unlikely due to holidays. I'd like to do Donnington this year if I can, not been there yet.
He's being modest and did very well indeed including a 6th place finish in the lightweight open.
Jealous? Moi? Not a bit
